Accountant
Job Description:
We are a reputable and growing company in Kisumu, is seeking a qualified Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate must be an Indian native to support internal communication and cultural alignment. The role involves financial reporting, tax compliance, cash flow management, and overall financial operations.
Job details:
Record daily transactions accurately and maintain well-supported financial records
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in line with regulations
Reconcile bank and ledger accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies
Manage payables/receivables, process payments, and maintain supplier/customer records
Monitor and forecast cash flow, advising on liquidity and funding needs
Handle payroll, ensure accurate deductions, and remit statutory payments (PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, Pension)
Prepare and file all tax returns (VAT, WHT, Income Tax) per KRA deadlines
Support budgeting and variance analysis, ensuring alignment with company goals
Enforce financial controls and proper documentation across processes
Coordinate audits, prepare schedules, and respond to queries
Oversee inventory and asset records, including tagging and depreciation
Support procurement by tracking commitments and verifying financial compliance
Liaise with banks, vendors, and authorities for smooth operations
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA qualification is an added advantage
At least 3 years of accounting/finance experience
Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and compliance
Proficient in QuickBooks, Tally, or Sage; excellent Excel skills
Detail-oriented, accurate, and high integrity
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Fluent in Indian
